Two Quarter-plate Daguerreotype Portraits of Young Families, a portrait of a man, woman, and infant identified on a label inscribed "Eli R. Wellington/Persis L. Wellington/Clara M. Wellington 1851" pinned to the velvet pad; and a portrait of a couple and their two daughters, the woman wearing a faint smile, the youngest daughter wearing a fancy hat with plaid ribbons, both mounted in pressed-paper/leather case, (imperfections). Note: Eli R. Wellington (1820-1887) was born in Westmoreland, Cheshire County, New Hampshire. He married Persis L. Albee (1825-1895), on November 14, 1843, resided in Chesterfield, and together had four children, one of whom died in infancy. The 1880 census lists "farmer" as Eli's occupation.
