Audubon, John James (1785-1851) Snow Bird . [from] Birds of America . London: R. Havell, 1826-1838. Hand-aquatinted copper-plate engraving, loose, in a protective sleeve, sheet: 25 1/2 x 38 1/2 in., Plate 13, No. 3, sheet is clean overall, light toned and chipped at the outer edges, one small tear in the blank margin, more than seven inches outside the plate mark. Male and female snow birds perch on a leafless swamp ash, with pendant fruit.
