George III Mahogany Secretary Bookcase, cornice with dentil carving above a small carved arcade, upper section enclosed by a pair of segmented glass doors with interior shelving; lower section made up of an upper fall-front writing surface with internal compartments above three lower rows of graduated drawers, on four bracket feet, approx. ht. 89 1/2, wd. 48 1/2, dp. 23 in. Lower section with vertical cracks to each side, upper drop down drawer bowed slightly, small loss to upper right surface, interior writing surface with scattered usage wear and central interior door separated (included) with escutcheon removed/lock mechanism replaced. Upper section with scattered losses to cornice molding (particularly left side), cabinet door missing escutcheon, hinges/lock mechanisms replaced, some movement between upper and lower sections. Finish inconsistent between different elements, some cabinet door pieces possibly replaced. Two keys included.
