Russian Icon Depicting Weep Not for Me, Mother, 19th/ 20th century, the kovcheg panel shows the body of Christ from the waist up with his arms crossed in front of him while held by his mother, each with gilt halos around their heads, outer edge with two patron saints, all on a brown ground, 10 1/2 x 9 in. Panel bowed and braced from the back. Crack to panel with restoration and overpainting to painted surface. Scattered craquelure and slight lifting to paint in some areas.
