Regency Giltwood Marble-top Console Table, c. 1810, with a later marble top above a plain and later painted frieze raised on two lion-head monopodia with reeded columnar bodies, and a lower painted plinth further supported by hairy lion paw feet, ht. 33 1/2, wd. 45 1/2, dp. 20 1/2 in. Provenance: Purchased at Sotheby's, London, July 20, 1982, Lot 158. Original Sotheby's catalogue included with the lot. Scattered abrasions, nicks and related losses to painted/gilded areas. Worming and possible water exposure visible underneath. Small horizontal cracks to side rails. Loss to one glued corner bracket on the inner back left.
