Pair of Greek-style Vases, England, late 19h century, each baluster-form, with two gilt scrolled handles joining the body by two swan heads, with a Greek key fret register to the neck, body with a matte black glaze, decorated to one side with a portrait roundel and the other with chariot pulled by four horses, on a gilt foot, one with partial impressed marks to underside and numbered "4545," ht. 11 1/4 in. Each with light even gilt wear along edges of handles. Gilt wear to trim lines along rim. Each crazed throughout. One base overpainted (underside flaking) although can only see evidence of a 1" footrim chip.
