Paris Porcelain Hand-painted and Gilded Vase, France, mid-19th century, urn-form, with two handles, the white ground overlaid with gilded arabesques and strapwork, the neck with depictions of classical female nudes, with anthema to the shoulder, the body with two scenes of Venus and Cupid, over socle with polychrome acanthus leaves and laurel wreath foot, on a square marbleized base, unmarked, ht. 25 1/2 in. Scattered loss to gilt and enamel. Urn rotates on socle and the mounting hardware has been replaced. Two old hairline cracks to bottom interior extending outward from metal mounting.
