Russian Icon Depicting the All Hymned Mother of God, 19th century, kovcheg panel, the Mother holding Christ, the lining of her parcel-gilt brown robe and head covering with a Cyrillic inscription and with three small faces enclosed in a circle: two on her shoulders and one on her head, handwritten inscription to reverse, 12 x 10 1/4 in. Scattered retouching throughout. Panel slightly bowed (wedges projecting from sides). Some nicks to edges.
