Pair of Minton Majolica Toby Jugs, England, late 19th century, one modeled as a peasant woman with a shawl and fan, the other as a gentleman, each with hair forming the handle to the back and a hat forming the spout, impressed marks to both, ht. to 11 1/4 in. Literature: Peasant woman illustrated in Majolica , by Nicholas Dawes, p. 43, fig. 66. Gentleman with small chip to shirt. Both with professional restoration to spouts. Gentleman also with restoration to top of the handle.
