William Beattie Carrara Finding of Moses Figural Group, England, c. 1875, possibly Wedgwood, modeled as Thermutis and a nymph discovering the baby Moses, impressed sculptor, ht. 19 in. Literature: Illustrated in Wedgwood Ceramics 1846-1959 , by Maureen Batkin, plate 17. Restored chips to Thermutis's headdress, nymphs raised hand, and two corners of plinth below sphinx, to Moses raised arm and to area of kneecaps, part of basket and tall grass. Additionally there is a chip to the rim of the basket.
