Wedgwood Black Basalt Self-framed Plaque, England, early 19th century, oval shape with high relief depiction of a scantily clad woman mourning at a tomb, impressed mark, lg. 9 1/2 in.; set in a giltwood frame and mounted in a Lucite case. In very good condition with no evidence of any cracks, chips or restorations. The gilt frame looks to have been repaired and regilded.
