Milton Clark Avery (American, 1885-1965) Seated and Standing , 1946 Signed "Milton Avery" in pen l. r., titled, dated, and inscribed "...1946 Flobrush" in pencil on the reverse, identified on a label from The Alpha Gallery, Boston, affixed to the backing. Flobrush on paper, sheet size 13 13/16 x 16 13/16 in. (35.1 x 42.7 cm), framed. Condition: Cloth and paper tape hinged to backing mat, old tape residue along top edge verso, minor toning, light handling creases to u.r. corner. Provenance: A private Massachusetts collection. N.B. The original invoice from The Alpha Gallery, Boston, accompanies the lot.
