Pair of Sandwich Colorless Octagonal Pressed Glass Dishes with Eagle and Shield, Boston & Sandwich Glass Co. , Sandwich, Massachusetts, c. 1840, the plates centered with a spreadwing eagle with arrows and olive branch surrounded by thirteen stars, the curved panel sides with shield and floral motifs, with scalloped rims, (mold underfill on rims of both dishes [in the making], minor rim chips), ht. 1 3/8, dia. 6 1/2 in.
