English, 19th century. A tortoiseshell veneered double ink well desk set of rectangular form decorated to all planes with bands of inlaid mother of pearl flowering vines, the structure raised on four ivory based feet having shaped apron between each with a long drawer to front of box bordered by ivory banding, the top of structure with two square brass capped glass inkwells within fitted compartments flanked by two long concave divots for holding pens, with a lidded box at center below a bronze D form handle decorated with acanthus leaves. Approximately 6" x 11" x 8.5".
