Renaissance Revival Carved Oak Cabinet, 19th century, with highly carved foliate and lion mask frieze over two doors with arched glass panels enclosing a shelved interior, on conforming base with long frieze drawer, each stile with a figural support above a dolphin and scrolling rocaille, ht. 84, wd. 56, dp. 19 in. Provenance: Originally purchased by August Hemenway, a prominent shipper in Boston in the 19th century, whose family contributed heavily to the arts and culture of Boston over the last 200 years. Harriet Hemenway was the founder of the Audubon Society.
