Dominick & Haff Sterling Silver Horse Trophy, New York, late 19th/early 20th century, presented by the National Horse Show Association of America: Hackney Stallion Challenge Cup awarded to Henry Fairfax and his horse Bagthorpe Sultan in 1908 and 1909; trophy with paneled body and gold-washed interior, tall lid with acanthus engravings and berry-form finial, trophy body decorated with a register of floral garlands, presentation inscriptions to each side, acanthus leaves to lower body and scrolled acanthus-decorated handles, raised on a flared foot with a fasces-decorated rim, ht. 15 1/2 in., approx. 100.7 troy oz.
