Pair of Royal Vienna porcelain urns or vases, both decorated in cobalt ground and gilt enamel with scrolling and leafy foliage with raised white and gilt beading, each of baluster form with a domed lift-off cover and gilt scrolled handles, socle base on 4 feet. One urn hand painted with interior scene depicting male and female royalty seated on the floor and being entertained by a masculine performer, signed in lower right corner of image by C. Herr (Claudius Herr), the opposing side with painted gold beaded vignette of an allegorical maiden or nymph amidst clouds. The underside of foot with Bindenschild or Beehive in blue underglaze. The second urn hand painted with mythological scene depicting Minerva or “Athena†surrounded by Cupid and winged putti holding up amour, signed lower center Forster. The opposing side with painted gold beaded vignette with allegorical figure of time, inscribed or titled under foot (in German) along with Bindenschild or Beehive in blue underglaze. Height 21", width 12" (handle to handle), diameter of base 9".
