Northwest Coast Carved Wood Mask, probably Haida, pre-1850, finely carved portrait of a woman wearing a large labret in her lower lip, the eyes with incised detail and pierced at the center for sight, the arched brows painted black with incised detail, the ears, lower chin line, lips, one cheek, and half the nose are painted with red pigment, traces of black (some probably applied at a later period), and green pigments, remnant paper label on the inside, patina of use, (wood loss), ht. 8 1/2 in.
