Historic Transfer Decorated Staffordshire Lustreware Pitcher, England, early 19th century, rounded copper lustre pitcher with a canary yellow medial band with black transfer decoration, one side titled "LAFAYETTE" depicting a bust-length portrait of Lafayette above an eagle and flanked by two figures holding a wreath above his head, the other side depicting a scene ending the Revolutionary War of General Cornwallis surrendering his sword, (base hairline crack), ht. 3 3/4 in.
