Federal Gilt Wood Mirror, Hosea Dugliss, New York, c. 1815-20, an eagle with outstretched wings on a rocky perch above a shaped acanthus leaf plinth above a shaped, molded, and beaded frame containing an eglomise tablet of musical instruments joined to two similarly shaped framed panels by a chain with attached spherules, on a flat cornice molding with applied spherules and mirror glass flanked by engaged pilasters with leaf capitals, old surface, (imperfections). Note: Backboard bears label of maker, "Hosea Dugliss Looking Glass, Manufacturer, 11 Chatham Row, between Ann Street and the Park Theatre, New York."
