Queen Anne Walnut Carved Side Chair, Boston, 1740-50, fluted shell carving centers the crest above the vasiform splat on a compass slip seat above frontal cabriole legs ending in pad feet joined by block and vase-turned stretchers to the rear raking chamfered square legs, seat upholstered in Russian leather, (minor imperfections), ht. 39 3/4, seat ht. to the rail 17 in. Note: The Russian leather was salvaged from the Atlantic Ocean in the 20th century from an 18th century shipwreck.
