Continental, early 20th century. Pair of Louis XV style stained fruitwood fauteuils or open armchairs, one larger then the other, both with gadrooned or ribbon carved frame with padded back, elbow rests, scrolled arms and overstuffed down-filled removable seat cushion, over a serpentine carved seatrail raised on cabriole legs carved with C scroll, cabochon and foliage, terminating in scrolled toes. The upholstery secured with decorated nailhead trim. Height 33.5", width 26" (arm to arm, seat depth 20", seat height 14". Height 33", width 25" (arm to arm), seat depth 19.5", seat height 13.5".
