Rare Bakelite Carved Bangle, the wide bracelet heavily carved with palm trees and flowers, interior circumference 7 3/4 in. Note. This bracelet was part of the Andy Warhol Bakelite collection sold by Sotheby's in 1988. The original lot label from that auction is included. The bangle is pictured on p. 11 of "The Bakelite Jewelry Book". Note: Lots 421 to 543 come from the collection of Corinne "Corky" Davidov. Ms. Davidov co-authored "The Bakelite Jewelry Book" (1988) with Ginny Redington Dawes. Many lots in the collection are pictured in the book. Ms. Davidov also co-authored "The Victorian Jewelry Book" (1990) and is currently a writer for Lucire, a global fashion magazine. This collection was amassed over twenty years beginning with a few pieces owned by her mother.
