Unusual Collection of Hand-made Paper Figures in Wooden Box, 19th century, with detailed handwritten description by their human playmate who describes the attributed personalities and sources of the figures which were inspired by various publications; the figures include one adult, thirty-nine children, seven animals, and twelve wooden stands, some figures are varnished, all are contained in a slip-top pine box, 8 1/2 x 11 1/2 x 3 in.
