Chandler of Roxbury, Massachusetts, published by Brown, Taggard & Chase, Boston, includes original box and instructions, elephant, horses, five riders, two costumes and three hats, all in strong condition (some wear to box), also includes uncut, uncolored sheet of three of the animals (some wear to box), 6 1/2 x 10 in. Provenance: Note attached in Herbert Hosmer's hand reads: This set belonged to his nephews and nieces Nathaniel John, Frederick Lincoln, Elizabeth, Marion and Caroline, children of George Frederick and Susan E. (Buss) Chandler of South Lancaster, Mass., Great Grandparents of Herbert Hosmer, Jr.
