Papier-maché Shoulder Head Doll, Germany, c. 1840, blue painted eyes, black molded and painted hair with with waved curls dropped at sides, braided bun in back, slight smiling mouth, deep shoulder plate (old cracks in back of plate, some surface soil and wear), classic kid "milliner's model" body with wooden lower arms and legs, green painted shoes, pink and brown checked two-piece outfit, ht. 12 in.
