Near Life-size Electric Advertising Automaton, probably 1930s / 40s, depicting a soldier in the Revolutionary War, the head expressively modeled with closed mouth, painted eyes and rolled painted-paper hair and sideburns, originally holding a flute (not included), in red and blue tailcoat, cravate, remains of felt waistcoat and breeches, with electric motor in the body causing him to raise hands to his lips, ht. 42 in., (inoperative, missing two fingers, both feet and one lower leg). Provenance: Boston store-front advertising display.
