After John James Audubon (American, 1785-1851) Swamp Sparrow, Male , Plate 64 Inscribed "Drawn from Nature by Lucy Audubon" in the plate l. l. and "Engraved by R. Havell, Junr., Printed and Coloured by R. Havel Senr., London 1829" in the plate l.r. Hand-colored engraving and aquatint, plate size 19 1/2 x 12 3/8 in. (49.5 x 31.4 cm), framed. Condition: Rippling, subtle handling creases, not examined out of frame. N.B. Lucy Bakewell Audubon (American, 1788-1874) was the wife of John James Audubon. On the original watercolor for this work, which is now in the collection of the New York Historical Society, J.J. Audubon made the following notation at lower left in brown ink: "No 13.
