Persian Calligraphy, 20th Century. Single leaf with a solid blue field, the calligraphy in white ink, in maraya or muthanna (mirror-image) style, bilaterally symmetrical, within a gold border with flowers, sprinkled all over with gold, pasted on light card, with a sheet of newspaper on the verso of the card, light chipping to white portions, with some loss of surface, 14 1/2 x 6 1/4 in.
