Gerhard Hendrik Grauss (Dutch, 1882-1929). "Reclining Nude" - 1928, oil on wood panel, signed and dated lower right. Finely painting impressionist work depicting a red headed beauty lying nude across a surface draped in white with heavily textured red and burgundy surface to background, the figure lying on her back with legs bent at the knee and pointing toward viewer, her stomach soft and breasts voluptuous, the woman with right arm extending down her side and resting to bed in front of her with her left arm bent at the elbow and supporting her head as it leans toward the viewer with her short red hair falling forward on her shadowed brow. Paper label to verso with Dutch language biographical information, date September 1, 1966, also with paper label remnant "Schouten & Voskuil, Amsterdam". Framed approximately 40" x 50", 28.875" x 39.25".
