French, 18th century. Very fine French Provincial period walnut commode with molded serpentine top over a conforming case containing three long molded panel drawers centered by oval panels with ormolu floral basket escutcheons flanked to each side by rectangular panels centering elaborate gilt bronze pulls decorated with winged satyr masks headed with urn issuing laurel swags from the mouth and joined recumbent sphinx, having a shaped apron between rounded angles and paneled shaped sides, raised on squat cabriole legs. Height 40.75", width 48.5", depth 26".
