Karel Appel (Dutch, 1921-2006), "Face (Happy Face)"-1969, color lithograph on arches paper, pencil signed lower right margin, numbered lower left margin "EA", published by Precht 190, Utrecht. Stamp with framing details on the back. Large contorted face in center with bulging eyes, furrowed brow, abstracted nose and lips. Facial features constructed with orange, red, turquoise and blue fields of color, a happy face set against a white background. Framed approximately 34.25" x 27". Sheet size approximately 22" x 15".
