Rosewood Marble-top Console Table, China, the rectangular top set with a pink variegated marble panel, above a pierced apron with elaborate scrolling foliage, the front cabriole legs each surmounted by the petals of a lotus flower and carved with tendrils, the straight back legs carved with further scrolling foliage, on large claw-and-ball feet, 31 1/2 x 50 x 26 1/2 in. Note: See Christie's London, Sale 7997, Lot 292, November 8, 2011, Provenance: Descent from an English family who lived in Shanghai from the late 1800s to 1911. This table was transported back to England in 1911 and then to New England.
