Six-panel Screen Depicting Poets, Japan, 18th century, depicting in brushwork eight Heian-period poets and a poetess, Ono no Komachi, following Tosa school Yamato-e style, possibly a part of two pairs of screens featuring the Thirty-six Immortals of Poetry as a whole, ink on silver leaf, two seals, 67 1/8 x 24 5/8. Provenance: From a private collection in Wayland with a certificate of antiquity issued in 1981 by Yoshi Takishita, the president of The House of Antiques, Japan.
