Diminutive Putty-painted Pine Chest over Drawer, possibly Maine, c. 1830-40, the lift top opens to a well, with drawer below, on bracket base and cutout sides, original putty-painted surface of ochre and burnt sienna highlighted with red and green, ht. ????, wd. ?????, dp. ????? in. Provenance: Chris Huntington, until June 1974, when it was illustrated on the cover of his collection's catalog at George Morrill's auction, on location in Mount Vernon, Maine; James and Nancy Glazer, purchased in 1984.
