Allard" Month Duration Astronomical Regulator, Rue de St. Antoine, Paris, c. 1825, figured walnut case and architectural top with a molded cornice, dentil and carved corners, glazed sides and full-length front door and base with fluted corners and flat base molding, rear access doors to the weight channel with pulley mounted on roof board, the 10-in. dia. silvered brass Roman numeral dial within a gilt bezel engraved Allard , four hands off the center indicating hours, minutes, sweep seconds with blued steel hands, and a gilt hand for the equation of time, geared calendar mechanism mounted below in a silvered semicircle calibrated ring with the equation of time ellipse behind, month duration single train movement with rear mounted escape wheel and removable dead-beat pallets, all powered by a single flat lead weight within a rear compartment and regulated by a temperature compensating grid iron pendulum with two flat gilt-brass and one flat steel rod, 9 1/2-in. dia. gilt pendulum bob with internal thermometer under glass, steel indicating needle and calibrated dial all suspended by a steel knife edge set on a "T-bridge" and reading against a silvered beat scale stating Degres du Cercle , ht. 84 1/2 in.
